It is with great shock and sadness that we have to announce the sudden and totally unexpected death of Mike Ronan, who died on October 17 at Lawrence Berkely Laboratory.

Mike has been a supporter of the linear collider from the very early stages of the project, and has been one of the driving forces behind the use of a TPC at the linear collider in generell, and in the LDC in particular. Within the ILC community he will also be remembered for the numerous contributions he made to the physics case of the ILC, to software and software tools and many other areas.

With Mike we loose a collegue and friend, whom we will miss in the future.
