Dear Contributor to the LDC outline document,

first of all thank you very much that you have agreed to work on some part of the outline document for LDC.

To remind you, the document is expected to be delivered at the time of the next LCWS, which is scheduled in Bangalore for early March. The document should contain a description of the LDC detector concept, a description of each of the different sub-detectors, including possible alternative technologies to be used.It is currently expected that the total lenght of the document should be around 100 pages.

The current table of content for the outline document is available on the WEB under http://www.ilcldc.org. There you also find the list of people who have agreed to work on particular
sections.

To start the writing process we like to invite you to propose as a first step a more detailed outline of the section you are going to work on. If more than one person has
been signed up for one section, we like to ask you to agree among yourselves on the outline. We like to ask you to deliver this information by January 15. We will schedule a phone/ VRVS meeting for January 18 to discuss the document and the next steps.

We plan to then call for an editorial meeting around the time of the EUDET kickoff meeting, which is scheduled for Feb. 15-17. The proposed time would be the afternoon of Feb 14, and the morning of Feb 15. This meeting would be at DESY, plus of course the possibility to connect via phone and VRVS.

On the LDC WEB page, you will find under ldc documents instructions and a document template. The document will be written in Word, as this seems to become the standard fordocuments in the ILC world. Please submit your proposed outlines in the format as given on the WEB page.
